South African Citizens
For South African citizens applying for vehicle finance, several key documents are required. Applicants must provide a valid identity document, which can be a Smart ID Card (front and back), a Green Barcoded ID Book, or a valid temporary identity document. Proof of residential address dated within the last three months is also required. Accepted proof of address documents include utility bills, bank statements, or a current lease or rental agreement that clearly displays the applicant’s name and residential address. In addition, finance applications require three months’ bank statements, three months’ payslips, and a valid driver’s licence (front and back).
Foreign Nationals
CMH Tata Randburg also assists foreign nationals looking to finance a vehicle. Applicants will need to provide a valid passport, a valid work permit, and where applicable, a valid asylum seeker or refugee permit. Proof of address not older than three months is required, along with three months’ bank statements, three months’ payslips, and a valid driver’s licence. Having these documents readily available can help ensure a smoother finance assessment process.
Self-Employed Applicants
For self-employed individuals, additional financial information is necessary. While standard identification and proof of address documents still apply, self-employed applicants are required to submit six months’ bank statements. This enables finance providers to review income patterns and determine affordability more accurately.
Companies (Pty) Ltd
Businesses registered as Companies (Pty) Ltd must provide company registration documents together with confirmation of voting rights or shareholding. Related Party KYC documentation is required for all directors, voting rights holders with 5% ownership or more, and all individuals linked to related party suretyships. This documentation includes verified identification and proof of address. A resolution signed by all directors and relevant voting rights holders must also be submitted. Furthermore, companies are required to provide verified proof of their operating address, as well as records of address and contact details for all customer-related parties.
Close Corporations
At CMH Tata Randburg, we also assist Close Corporations with their vehicle finance applications. Required documents include company registration documents, a resolution signed by all members, and full KYC documentation for every member. This includes verified identification and proof of address. Related Party KYC documentation must also be provided for donors, trustees, and all named beneficiaries where applicable, including verified identification, records of address, and contact details. Additional requirements include verified proof of the Close Corporation’s operating address, a memorandum from vetting, and source of funds documentation.
